EPISODE SUMMARY
The Focused15 is a new segment I created to shed light on some of the common questions I receive, comment on interesting posts and articles from around the interwebs, and share thoughts from other conversations. I love long-form content, but some so many topics and questions don’t need an hour-long, robust deep dive. This new segment aims to answer a question or share my thoughts in 15 minutes or less. It’s like a shot in the proverbial arm of your business!
Today’s topic comes from a post in a group on Facebook. The photographer shared a situation on a call with a potential bride. The photographer was doing their typical spiel about how they would photograph the day.
“I’ll have your mom help you put on your veil, your dress, and earring…” when the bride cut the photographer off and said, “My mom is dead.”
This rightfully threw the photographer for a loop which was hard to recover from. What surprised me was that it happened in the first place.
It’s easy to think that since we photographers see the framework of weddings as the same, the people within the framework are the same.
Listen in episode 31 as I explore an alternative approach to the typical photographer’s spiel that will have you discover what is genuinely valuable to your couples and find more meaningful photographs.
